Benefits of an electric bike:
1. People who need to commute to work at minimal cost. An electric bike used for commuting to work can pay for itself within 6 to 12 months depending on fuel used and distance. I used to do 10 miles to work which would take approx 35 minutes in the car and 40 minutes by electric bike. In many circumstances this could even reduce travelling time depending on if your normal journey included traffic jams. Most of the Wisper range of bikes with the 14amp battery can achieve an official figure of 56 miles. This is based on a flat terrain, no wind and an 11 stone 8 rider. In real terms the figure is not that different! I myself have achieved around 40-45 miles which included many hills along the way and some of them quite demanding.
2. People in their later years can now enjoy cycling again but not just the elderly but anyone who is finding it hard to cycle on a normal bike. If you have say an injury that makes it hard to keep pedalling on a constant basis using a throttle to propel yourself makes a ride possible that would have otherwise been too painful or irritable.
3. People who have lost their licence - through whatever reason, maybe illness, disability or drink driving. When you lose your car and look for alternatives you cant buy a motorbike because that is ruled out the same as a car is but you can buy a pushbike. Problem is for most people is that a normal pushbike will not get them to work with the ease that they are used to or they simply don't want to arrive at work smelling of sweat. With an electric bike from Pedals Plus Power all these problems are remedied. Our bikes have a legal limit of 15.5mph but that is exactly what it says on the tin when you think about it - 15 miles in 1 hour! For the majority of most people’s journeys through heavy rush hour traffic would over ten miles equal the same travelling time as by car or even better depending on the level of traffic.
4. People in need of rehabilitation. When Pedals Plus Power started I had a back problem and my physiotherapist advised me to swim and cycle to strengthen my back muscles. I had the chance to test an electric bike and suddenly realised their potential.
5. People who want to get fit. Yes FIT! It is a complete myth that electric bikes are lazy. Young and old that were not regular cyclists can now cycle every day in pleasure without the worry of riding too far and overdoing it. If it helps certain people get into cycling that would otherwise not have usually bothered then it can only be a good thing. I personally would have only used my mountain bike around 3 to 4 times per year to be honest and now with electric bikes I'm upset if I don’t use them once a day!
6. People like Couriers and people who need to transport goods. A bike trailer can be attached to carry children or goods. Any business currently using normal bikes surely must consider electric?
7. People who consider their safety. In traffic a normal bike is slow to avoid danger from cars alongside. in positions of such say an island roundabout swapping lanes becomes much faster and easier by having the power of electric to get you out of any potential scrapes.
8. People who like FUN! Sorry I forgot to mention them! Let me elaborate......you take a ride from the vineyards......you ride down the hill to be greeted by beautiful green English countryside.........you continue on to the canal (to completely avoid traffic) using the map provided. You then head to a nice country village like Kinver.....you stop for a nice meal and a few drinks......then............when you feel too tired to pedal back......you just cruise on the throttle! Job done and it’s the end of a good day! That’s what you get when you hire from us but the benefits of buying one allows you to take your bike anywhere! .......................who knows where you might end up!
